Following a major acquisition the business believed that they needed to replace the legacy systems (Oracle 11i and Sage 300) with a cloud-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system across the enlarged enterprise.

Organisation

The business was a Global online gaming group employing 2,600 staff across 14 offices.

Objectives

To determine whether the Group’s financial systems should be enhanced, replaced or left as they were. If to be replaced then to determine which system should be chosen and used, in order to drive business support efficiencies and generate better quality management information.

Tasks

To review which if any of the legacy systems should be retained by the enlarged group. To look at the current market offerings and determine an ERP system that would be better suited to the client’s requirements. To implement the chosen system across the Group.

Results

Oracle Fusion ERP & HCM were chosen to cover all finance and HR function needs; 146 legal entities operating over 40 currencies had to be migrated across and the different e-commerce, bank and PSP iRec systems had to be integrated and data transformed to create postings in Oracle ledgers. The project team consisted of Bridgewey, Oracle reps, an accredited Oracle consultancy and client staff based in UK, India, Gibraltar, Austria, Italy and Bulgaria. The timeline for the General Ledger activation was just seven months. In addition to taking the ERP Project Management role Bridgewey also organised the training of staff.

Go-live deadline was met with Purchase 2 to Pay following within three months, all other modules shortly thereafter.

The objectives were all met including a significant reduction in the month-end accounting and reporting processes and enterprise-wide budgets. Bridgewey prepared all training materials, primarily 60+ training videos.
