Graham’s early experience was in manufacturing, cost accounting, stock and WIP valuation, planning and purchasing. Whilst working as the Production Planning Manager for a steel products manufacturing business he was highly involved in the implementation of a new integrated sales order, purchase order, stock management, production scheduling and financial reporting system.

In 1999 Graham moved to London working for a property business. Initially working on a commercial portfolio providing financial support to the Surveyors and Property Managers and managing the day-to-day transaction processing for each of the companies in the portfolio, duties included monitoring debt, cash management with the Surveyors, monthly management accounts for circa 6 companies and VAT reporting. As a result of a recent implementation of a new accounting system Graham was responsible for documenting the processes of the Finance Department ensuring that control weaknesses were closed.

In his career to date Graham has undertaken budget tracking, cash management, preparing loan drawdowns, ensuring that contractors were paid against their certified work and the preparation of bank reporting to the funding banks.

As the Head of Finance for a recruitment business Graham was responsible for the Finance Department overseeing the weekly contractor payroll for circa 200 contractors. Graham was active in implementing a self-billing system, and integrating the data flow from this third party package into their accounting system. Graham put in and maintained the necessary processes and procedures that ensured the accurate capture of large volumes of data.

Whilst working as the Financial Controller of a Premium Car Parts distribution business Graham was pivotal in managing the upgrading of their financial systems, having out grown Sage 50, they implemented Sage 200 and integrated the flow of stock (Cost of Sales) and Sales information into Sage from a bespoke ERP. In a relatively high volume low ticket value business distributing globally the efficient processing of receipts, sales deliveries, cost and ultimately feeding through to the Management Accounts to audit along with efficient cash management and effective currency consideration.
